Twenty days to go for the 20 French startups exhibiting at the 2017 Web Summit

The 2017 Web Summit is taking place this year in Lisbon on November 6-9, 2017. For the fourth year in a row, Business France and its partner Orange will be making the trip with 20 high-potential French startups.

Those chosen were selected from a shortlist of 65 to take part in this year’s event, where they will enjoy the opportunity to showcase their disruptive technology, sound business plan, and potential for success following the Web Summit.

Bringing together a trade show with an array of conferences and networking events, the Web Summit has become Europe’s largest and most important technology marketplace, attracting 1,500 startups, 1,300 investors and 60,000 visitors. France will be at the forefront of this year’s event, with more than 150 French startups exhibiting and around 1,500 visitors expected from France.

The startups will each get a chance over the three days at the Lisbon Feira Internacional to pitch their innovations and devices to decision-makers, analysts and investors.

The French delegation certainly made waves at the Web Summit last year, as one of the startups attending, Weenect, explains: “The Web Summit may be a major event on the European tech scene, but it’s also a huge trade fair where it’s easy to go unnoticed. Business France was instrumental in helping us avoid this fate, and with the greater exposure we received, we got noticed by Google, which led to a partnership through their Growth Accelerator program. Our sales have rocketed since then, in part thanks to these opportunities.”
