P&O Ports, owned through DP World by the government of Dubai, signed a partnership agreement with Port de Sète on July 11, 2017. Jean-Claude Gayssot, Chairman of Port Sète Sud de France, and Rado Antolovic, CEO of P&O Ports, were present for the occasion.
Business France is providing support to the project, which will involve investing €30-40 million in a new container terminal, creating around 50 jobs over three years.
P&O Ports specializes in port transport and logistics, marina development, and engineering and port services. It has announced plans for two other expansion projects at Port de Sète: one to operate a fruit terminal, and the other to develop the marina, and is also interested in exploring other investment opportunities in Port de Sète and its hinterland.
