The 22nd Gulfood trade fair is being held from February 26 to March 2, 2017. This major annual food and hospitality event, organized by the Dubai World Trade Center, is the leading international trade fair in GCC countries, a real gateway to the region’s markets and a showcase for manufacturers, distributors and suppliers in the food products sector.
Between 2009 and 2016, the value of French agri-food product exports to GCC countries more than doubled from €530.5 million to over €1 billion (French Customs Authorities figures).
The event attracts 5,000 exhibitors from 120 countries and 95,000 trade visitors from around the world. This year, for the first time, Gulfood has reorganized the sector-by-sector organization of its halls, as at other major agri-food trade fairs (Anuga, SIAL) to help buyers find their way around. The 100,000 sq. m. have been divided into eight major product zones: fats and oils; legumes, grains and cereals; dairy products; health and well-being; flavors of the world; meat and poultry; major brands and beverages.
The Gourmet Products and Delicatessen department of Business France has risen to the challenge by exhibiting 70 French companies over almost 900 sq. m. in four product ranges: flavors of the world; dairy products; beverages; meat and poultry.
Stop press: On Sunday February 26, having been nominated in three categories (“Best fruit or vegetable product”, “Best convenience food”, “Best frozen or chilled food”), Breton company Pinguin won the “Best frozen or chilled food” prize for its “Mousseline sauce”.
