French startup ManoMano sets its sights on the European market

DIY and gardening online marketplace ManoMano yesterday announced a colossal fundraising round of €60 million, secured from American investment fund General Atlantic.

Founded in 2013 by Christian Raisson and Philippe de Chaville, ManoMano is a digital platform specializing in sales of DIY and gardening products and services. This latest fundraising round is the company’s fourth this year, and brings to €75 million the total amount of funds raised since 2013. Business angels overseeing the development of this thriving young company include CM-CIC Capital Privé, Piton Capital, Partech Ventures and Bpifrance.

The startup’s founders hope to replicate the success the company has enjoyed in France in other markets, and to become a European leader in the digital DIY and gardening market segment.

ManoMano has grown from nine to 145 employees in just four years, and now trades in six European markets. The startup’s turnover soared from €32 million in 2015 to €90 million in 2016, and it is aiming to pass the €250 million mark in 2017.
