In partnership with the Cultural Services Department of the French Embassy, and with support from the Ile de France (Paris region) Regional Council, Business France is putting on a cultural and creative industries (CCIs) event in Beijing on November 22-23, 2017.
Designed as a networking forum for French and Chinese stakeholders in culture-related engineering and technology (live entertainment, exhibitions, digital CCIs), the initiative will provide market research assistance to French companies through face-to-face meetings with various key players (institutions, cultural centers, companies and other potential partners in the sector).
Cultural and creative industries in France are not only competitive but also underpin France’s wider influence. The sector plays a leading role in everyday French life, employing at least 1.3 million people and generating annual revenues of €84 billion.
These industries in France boast a grand total of 940 theaters, 26 light opera houses, 17 concert arenas, 79 contemporary music venues, six national music centers, nearly 150 musical ensembles, several thousand festivals, 16 national dance centers and 10 choreographic development centers.
French cultural products are in high demand in China, but there are currently less than a dozen French SMEs operating in the Chinese sector. This latest initiative, bringing together business and culture, will also make an important contribution to furthering French-Chinese cooperation.
