The World Rugby Council has announced that France will host the 2023 Rugby World Cup. The country’s bid beat off competition from Ireland and South Africa, which had been considered to be ahead in the race to host the event.
This latest announcement is the second piece of good news for France, which was recently confirmed as the host country for the 2024 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, and highlights once again the country’s excellence in organizing major sporting events.
Ten cities and nine stadia will host the 2023 Rugby World Cup, including Paris, Saint-Denis, Lille, Nantes, Lyon, Saint-Etienne, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Nice and Marseille.
