France: an export hub

France is ranked 13th out of the 136 economies compared in the latest Global Enabling Trade Report, jointly published since 2007 by the World Economic Forum and the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation to gauge the quality of institutions, policies, infrastructure and services facilitating the free flow of goods across borders.

France stands out in particular for its high-quality transport and communications infrastructure, which feature among its greatest structural advantages, earning France fourth place in the world ahead of the United Kingdom (10th) and Germany (9th), while border administration is a third area in which it scores well: France is the best performing economy in the world for customs procedure time and costs.

France’s central location and numerous positive trade performances make it an ideal springboard into markets in other countries and continents.
