Excellent results for French goods exports

French goods exports rose 4.5% in 2017 to €473 billion in the largest increase for five years, according to the annual trade report published yesterday by the French Customs Authorities.

The number of firms which export goods remained stable in 2017 at 124,060, while exports from mid-size companies and SMEs rose by 6.2% and 3.9%, respectively.

The largest contributors to the increase in French goods exports were the motor vehicle, basic metals, chemical and agri-food industries, with particularly strong growth in Asia (up 14%) and the European Union (up 3.4%).
