The world’s largest organic trade fair Biofach is being held for the 23rd time on February 15-18, 2017 in Nuremberg, Germany. More than 2,300 exhibitors are expected over four days at a multinational showcase of everything that organic food has to offer, spanning eight different exhibition halls.
In 2016, the fair attracted 48,533 business participants from 130 countries, while France was among the top five source countries of visitors, along with Italy, Austria, the Netherlands and Spain.
It is Germany’s turn this year to host the fair, as it continues “building an organic future”, focusing on innovation and responsibility.
France will have the largest international pavilion at Biofach 2017, with a surface area of more than 1,200 sq. m. Business France is running the pavilion for the first time, and will be supporting 103 businesses from eight of France’s regions. French exhibitors have not only benefited from an exclusive summary of the organic food market in 10 countries written by Business France experts, but also got the chance to watch a webinar on the German market prior to their arrival in Nuremberg.
A number of culinary initiatives are also planned over the four days of the fair. Thursday February 16 will be Business France’s “Blue Night”, offering the chance to sample some of the French exhibitors’ products, where they will be joined by Florent Guhl, Chief Executive of the BIO agency, which promotes organic food in France.
