As part of France’s “National Pact for Growth, Competitiveness and Employment”, the French government entrusted Bpifrance, France’s public investment bank, and Business France with responsibility for ensuring customized international support to 1,000 mid-size companies and high-growth SMEs.
Business France has established a team of 40 international business advisers within Bpifrance’s regional network nationwide, whose task is to offer guidance to mid-size companies and high-growth SMEs in optimizing their international strategy, providing long-term support in implementing action plans to boost exports (raising their profile in a foreign market and providing openings to new trading agreements).
Bpifrance’s presence on the ground means it can consider the company’s international development from a broad perspective and point it towards any appropriate finance and export insurance solutions.
Business France also offers special programs to SMEs selected for their innovation and export potential.
In 2015, these included:
UBI i/o : Fully immersive support in the United States for 10 weeks for eight highly promising digital start-ups.
ACCELERATECH China : 10 days of immersion for 12 innovative startups, followed by a four-week accelerator program for the four businesses chosen by a jury of experts and venture capital firms.
THE EXPORT + HEALTHCARE & COSMETICS PROGRAM
Backed and financed by the French National Investment Commission (CGI), this program is run by Business France as part of the French government’s “National Investment Program”. The program involves providing support to around 50 high-growth SMEs, guiding them with their target market approach and ensuring successful product registration and certification in five target countries: Brazil, China, the United States, India and Russia.
